Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world action RPG developed by Pearl Abyss, the studio behind the MMORPG Black Desert Online. Built on Pearl Abyss's proprietary BlackSpace engine, the game features a massive continent called Pywel, rendered with stunning visuals and expansive draw distances that rival — and by some comparisons exceed — the scale of Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2. Players take on the role of Kliff, a mercenary captain, navigating a war-torn land filled with dynamic melee combat, cinematic storytelling, and large-scale battles. Unlike Pearl Abyss's previous MMO work, Crimson Desert has no multiplayer component, focusing entirely on a rich single-player narrative experience.
